Omer Ahmed, M.D.

Dr. Omer Ahmed is board certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine by American Board of Internal Medicine. He is a fellow of the American college of chest physicians and holds a title of FCCP.
He graduated in Medicine from King Edward Medical University in 2002. He worked under Dr. David Schwartz at Duke University with a focus on IPF. This was followed by his internal medicine residency in Chicago under pioneers like Dr. Joe Garcia. He further specialized for 3 years in the discipline of Pulmonary and Critical Care medicine at the University of Arizona in Tucson. His educational interest in sleep medicine moved him to Harvard University where he completed his sleep medicine fellowship at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital and children’s hospital in Boston.
He was in private practice in Phoenix Arizona for 4 years before he moved to serve the NYC community. He has been in NYC metro since 2016 and accepting new patients for sleep medicine disorders at this location. He holds a faculty appointment at NYU and is actively involved in teaching.
His areas of interest include Sleep Apnea, insomnia and complex sleep apnea. He is well published in prestigious journals like JCSM, AJRCC and the sleep clinics.
