Dr. Maha Ahmad obtained her Bachelor of Science degree (ScB) in Neuroscience from Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island. She went on to obtain a Master of Medical Science (MMSc) degree as well as a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree, also from Brown University, graduating in 2001. She completed a residency in psychiatry and fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at New York-Presbyterian Hospital, Weill Cornell Medical Center in New York, NY. She completed a fellowship in sleep medicine here at the Sleep Disorders Institute in July 2007, where she went on to hold the positions of Attending Physician, Associate Director, and she is currently the Medical Director. She has expanded the clinical program in pediatric sleep disorders at our institution, offering services to children and adolescents with sleep problems. Dr. Ahmad is board certified in psychiatry and sleep medicine.
Dr. Ahmad is also the Medical Director of Clinilabs Drug Development Corporation where she conducts clinical trial research in the fields of sleep medicine as well as other central nervous system disorders. She has been the recipient of the NY Top Doctor Award, the Castle Connolly Top Doctors New York Metro Area Award, Patients’ Choice Award, and Compassionate Doctor Recognition.
